Many books have been written about Alabama football in recent years, but this one is unique. It’s a numbers-driven look at how much better the Crimson Tide have been than all other college football programs over the last dozen or so seasons, and it makes a strong case that this current run under Nick Saban is the most dominant decade-plus stretch the sport has ever seen.
The story is told through striking data visualization (charts, graphs, etc.), complemented by a superb collection of images from Alabama team photographers that will evoke memories of the era’s greatest players and moments.
The author is former ESPN analyst Brad Edwards, an Alabama alumnus who spent the last 25 seasons working on college football as both a researcher and an on-air personality – best known for his breakdowns of the national championship races during the BCS years. This is his first book.
